Plaster Wall Plaques

Coffee can lid
Plaster of Paris
Toothpicks or pencil
Decorative materials
Paper clip
Wall plaques are all-time plaster favorites.  They are easy to do and always look good, expressing the artist’s mood at the moment.  Use a coffee can lid for a base.  Pour the thickened plaster into the lid.  Press a handprint–or a pet’s pawprint–into the almost hard plaster.  You can also drop assorted materials into the plaster to create a design or design anything that suits your fancy.  Use a toothpick to inscribe a name and date on the plaque.

Before the plaster hardens, insert a large paper clip, or a soda can pop top into the top edge of the plaque, so it can be hung on the wall.
